Don't know what sound card is in there but it works. I want the fastest machine I can possibly have. I havn't yet figured out what to put on the hard drive. About 20 hours after I brought the machine home I used GParted on my puppy disc and formatted my hard drive erasing window xp from my existence. Ethernet cable to Cable modem for internet. 2 gig Sandisc Cruzer usb (with U3 uninstalled) 256 ram card (but it's only registering 190) But until then, I wanna hear what everyone is running on. A Linux machine as opposed to a machine designed for Windows that will now run Linux. On the other hand, I would shell out the bucks for a brand new computer if it was dedicated to Linux, designed to run Linux and all Linux hardware, using Linux drivers. Not being victim of The Bill Gates Monopoly of System Bloat. It's like getting something for free while sticking it to the man. On one hand I I'm uncharacteristically excited about the prospect of using all the discarded computers in the world to run Puppy on. No more using the family computer to restart Puppy on for my sessions. What's under the hood so to speak? I just got a new-to-me computer that I will run Puppy on full time. Otherwise.I am always really interested at reading what each of you are running Puppy on. I do not have a KVM.If this has been done, can someone please link me to it? My question is how to prevent a no keyboard error on bootup, other than having a keyboard connected, then removing it after boot. I will probably install Windows 2000 Server so I can use Remote Admin Terminal Services to manage it from my main PC.
I wanted to use Windows XP for the remote desktop feature, but I had problems with my 6 floppy disk XP setup set (it doesn't support booting from CD). I have little room for a server farm, so I want to run this without monitor, keyboard or mouse.
I am building an IBM G元00, PII 300 desktop as a file server to get the bulk of my files off my main box. I have Cable to a Linksys BEFSR41 Router with integrated 4-port switch.
It is made up of 2 Windows XP workstations, a 2K laptop, a Linux Box & whatever else I'm working on at any given time. I have a small home LAN configured as a workgroup.
